We have many years' experience making mobile aerials. G3ZVI's background in the chemical industry has provided a good understanding of corrosion processes, probably the major bugbear of the mobile aerial. Careful avoidance of incompatible metal combinations and selection of surface finishes has enabled development of a range of mobile aerials with outstanding durability.

The magnetic bases feature ceramic magnets which are not only very powerful but are very much more resistant to corrosion than ordinary iron magnets (whose only real advantage is that they are much cheaper!). The magnet disc and its steel housing are filled with epoxy resin and the whole is generously coated with a heavy duty paint.

The cable termination and whip mounting is an all in one plastic moulding which is totally waterproof.

Finally, a removable rubber boot is fitted which solves another problem often associated with magnets - scratching of the vehicle roof. (Just remember to clean it occasionally).

We reckon there's just one problem with our magnetic bases - they are so long-lasting that we don't see too many replacement sales. I think its called being a victim of your own success!

The other problem from the customers' point of view is that they are rather more expensive than others on the market, but we hope that the quality features described above will prove convincing.
