GAREX FLEXIBLE AERIALS

THE HIGH PERFORMANCE ALTERNATIVE TO "RUBBER DUCKIES"

Helical aerials ("rubber duckies") are compact and convenient, but they are very lossy. A full length ¼ wave can be 8 – 10dB better than a helical.

For the occasions when a longer whip can be tolerated, there is a whole new world of signals to be captured with a more efficient aerial. The effective radiated power of a transmitter is also greatly improved.

The GAREX Flexible Aerials have a springy core covered with nylon to strike the right balance between flexibility and robustness. They are mounted on a co-axial plug; versions on all common plugs are either stock lines or readily made to order.

GAREX Flexible Aerials are available right across the VHF & UHF bands from 118MHz upwards. The basic range comprises full length ¼ waves, they will have excellent performance, but may be a bit too long for convenience, especially at the lower VHF frequencies. For example, the VHF Airband ¼ wave model is 60cm (24") long. Therefore, we offer COMPRESSED ¼ WAVES for the lower VHF bands. These employ centre-loading for optimum efficiency.

A further bonus from our centre-loaded design is that we can produce high performance, but sensible length aerials for frequencies below 118MHz, e.g. 68 – 88MHz band.

Because of the wide range of frequencies and connectors which can be produced, the following price list shows only a small selection.
