The ACTIVE NOMAD is a portable VHF/UHF aerial incorporating a GAREX GA-5 SERIES WIDEBAND PREAMPLIFIER to maximise signals received by your scanner.

Powered via the DC socket, using either a mains adaptor (e.g. the MA-300) or the supplied battery box which holds 4 x AA cells (not supplied). It is easy to use, very lightweight, and can be rolled up to make a compact package, perfect for travel.

The ACTIVE NOMAD comprises a receiving section made from ribbon cable, which is readily folded for stowage, a matching unit containing the wideband amplifier, a supply/splitter box which has a power jack and a separate battery box.

The aerial comes ready fitted with 7 metres of high quality co-axial feeder cable and a BNC plug.

It couldn’t be easier to use. Simply suspend the ACTIVE NOMAD from any convenient point: the attic rafters, your hotel curtain rail or a handy tree branch. Power for the amplifier can be from a mains adaptor or, for complete freedom, 4 x AA cells housed in the battery box
