GAREX ELECTRONICS owns the design and manufacturing rights to the range of transceivers formally made by AKD.
In addition, Garex has for many years dealt in surplus PMR equipment, much of which can be modified or retuned to work on the Amateur VHF & UHF bands.
Currently in production are the former AKD 4001 (4 metres) and 6001 (6 metres).
The 4001 is available with CTCSS encode option (4001T)
Service support is available for 7003 (70cm) and 2001 (2 metres);
